Do I have room for this — yes or no?
HADAL is a constraint enforcement system. It doesn't help you manage time—it prevents you from overcommitting.
When your load exceeds capacity, the UI becomes hostile. Something must be removed or resized. No exceptions.
Built on mathematical integrity
Features That Enforce
HADAL doesn't suggest. It enforces. Every feature is designed to make overcommitment physically impossible.
The Capacity Contract
Define your actual limits
A 4-step audit calculates your real capacity: 168 hours minus biological tax, spoken-for time, and chaos margin. No more guessing.
The Capacity Contract
Define your actual limits
A 4-step audit calculates your real capacity: 168 hours minus biological tax, spoken-for time, and chaos margin. No more guessing.
- 168-hour baseline accounting
- Biological tax deduction (sleep, hygiene, eating)
- Spoken-for obligations (commute, meetings)
- 20% chaos margin for reality
Real-Time Load Calculation
Math doesn't lie
Load = Σ(Effort Weight) / Capacity. The system recalculates instantly as commitments change. When Load > 1.0, physics kicks in.
- Instant load recalculation
- Visual stack displacement
- Energy multiplier support
- Critical failure prediction
Hostile UI
When the math fails, the UI rebels
Background pulses red. Navigation locks. You cannot proceed until you resolve the overload. The system becomes a gatekeeper, not a helper.
- Red zone pulse animation
- Navigation lock with blur overlay
- Haptic feedback on violation
- Forced resolution workflow
Resolution Ritual
No escape without sacrifice
Lockdown → Weigh-In → Cost of Admission. Force-rank conflicting items side-by-side. Hold for 3 seconds or type 'I SACRIFICE' to confirm.
- Zero-sum pair comparison
- Swipe to sacrifice gesture
- 3-second hold confirmation
- Explicit 'I SACRIFICE' typing
Morning Calibration
Energy-aware capacity
Daily scheduled check: 100%, 60%, or 20% energy? The container shrinks visually. If overloaded, sacrifice before accessing your stack.
- Configurable daily reminder
- 3-tier energy selection
- Visual container shrinking
- Mandatory sacrifice gate
Zombie Detection
Confront your punt debt
2+ punts or 7+ days stagnant = zombie. Weight penalty: actual = original × (1 + 0.5 × puntCount). Weekly burial ritual forces cleanup.
- Automatic zombie flagging
- Progressive weight penalties
- Weekly burial ritual
- Mausoleum permanent record
Witness Accountability
External governor
Pair with a trusted witness via code. They authorize overrides and receive 'Liar Alerts' when punt thresholds are exceeded. Social pressure, applied.
- Secure code-based pairing
- Override authorization required
- Threshold-based liar alerts
- Read-only punt visibility
Capacity Mirror
Public accountability
Share your load percentage (e.g., '87% full') without revealing commitment details. Others see your load status, not your burden.
- Public/private toggle
- Shareable load gauge link
- No commitment details exposed
- Real-time sync
"Managing your weight is the only way to stay afloat."

Common Questions
Everything you need to know about constraint enforcement.
No. Task managers help you organize tasks. HADAL prevents you from taking on more than you can handle. It answers only one question: 'Do I have room for this — yes or no?' If the math says no, the UI becomes hostile until you resolve the conflict.
The system locks down. Background pulses red, navigation is disabled with blur + lock icon, and only conflicting items are visible. You must go through the Resolution Ritual: Lockdown (visual hostility) → Weigh-In (force-rank conflicting items) → Cost of Admission (hold to confirm for 3 seconds or type 'I SACRIFICE [label]').
Through the Capacity Audit during onboarding: Start with 168 hours (one week), subtract your biological tax (sleep, hygiene, eating), subtract spoken-for time (commute, meetings, fixed obligations), apply the chaos margin (default 20% reality buffer). The result is your weekly capacity. This number doesn't stretch.
Zombies are commitments punted 2+ times OR stagnant for 7+ days. They represent 'punt debt' — the lie that you'll 'get to it later.' Each punt adds a 50% weight penalty (actual weight = original × (1 + 0.5 × puntCount)), making them physically heavier in your stack. The weekly burial ritual forces you to confront them.
A trusted person who holds you accountable. They pair with you via code and can be required for overriding critical failure or excessive punts. If you exceed punt thresholds, they receive 'Liar Alerts' via push notification. Think of them as an external governor on your tendency to overcommit.
Yes. HADAL is offline-first by design. Your capacity contract and commitments are stored locally (Hive/SharedPreferences). Firestore sync happens when connected, but the core constraint enforcement — morning calibration, critical failure detection, load calculation — works entirely locally without internet.
Morning Calibration accounts for this. Triggered by scheduled notification at your configured time, you rate your energy: 100% (full capacity), 60% (reduced), or 20% (survival mode). The container visually shrinks based on your input, and tasks move toward the Red Zone. If the shrunken capacity creates an overload, you must sacrifice commitments before your stack is visible.
Your data is stored locally by default, with optional Firestore sync for backup and cross-device access. The Capacity Mirror feature lets you optionally share only your load percentage (e.g., '87% full') without revealing commitment details. Witnesses see punt counts and thresholds for accountability, not your commitment content.
The core constraint enforcement — capacity contracts, load calculation, critical failure detection, and hostile UI — will remain accessible to all users. Premium features may include witness pairing, capacity buckets, advanced analytics, and data export. Both tiers enforce the same mathematical rules.
You can. HADAL doesn't lock your phone or prevent uninstallation. The constraint is psychological, not technical. The system is designed for people who want to stop lying to themselves about their capacity. If you delete apps when they tell you hard truths, you might not be ready for HADAL.
