By using Hadal, you agree to these terms. Read carefully—this system enforces constraints, including on its own users.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Hadal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
Important: Hadal is designed to enforce hard constraints. The "hostile UI" behaviors described in documentation—including lockdowns during critical failure, mandatory resolution rituals, and enforced sacrifices—are intentional features, not bugs or service interruptions.
2. Description of Service
HADAL is a constraint enforcement system that helps users manage personal capacity by:
- • Calculating load based on commitment weight and defined capacity
- • Enforcing mathematical limits (Load ≤ 1.0)
- • Providing hostile UI feedback when limits are exceeded
- • Tracking punt history and zombie commitments
- • Optionally enabling social accountability through witnesses
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. However, your local data remains yours and functional even if cloud services are discontinued.
3. User Accounts
Registration: You may use Hadal anonymously (local-only) or create an account for cloud sync and social features. When creating an account, you must provide accurate and complete information.
Security: You are responsible for safeguarding the password and authentication methods used to access the Service. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
Account Termination: We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time, which permanently removes all associated data.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service:
Prohibited Activities
- • Attempting to bypass or disable the constraint enforcement mechanisms
- • Using the Service for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws
- • Attempting to access other users' data without authorization
- • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the application
- • Using automated systems to interact with the Service
- • Harassing witnesses or using the social features for abuse
- • Uploading malicious code or interfering with the Service's infrastructure
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination and legal action where applicable.
5. Intellectual Property
Our IP: The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Hadal and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
Your Data: You retain all rights to your capacity contracts, commitments, and other data entered into the Service. You grant us only the limited rights necessary to provide the Service (store, sync, backup).
Feedback: Any feedback you provide may be used by us without restriction or compensation to you.
6. Subscriptions & Payments
Billing: Pro and Annual subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You authorize us to charge your selected payment method.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds.
Price Changes: We may change subscription fees at any time. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle. You will be notified in advance.
Free Tier: The free tier has feature limitations as described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to modify free tier limits with 30 days notice.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Without limiting the foregoing, Hadal does not warrant that: (a) the Service will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; (c) the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; (d) the results of using the Service will meet your requirements.
8. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL HADAL, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (i) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (ii) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (iii) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE; OR (iv) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via in-app message and/or email at least 30 days before taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
